Secondary refining and inclusion control are closely related to steel quality and are important topics in the field of iron and steel research. Metallurgists worldwide have conducted a large number of studies in this field and achieved fruitful results. In order to promote academic exchanges in related fields, with the support of Chinese Society for Metals （CSM）, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Bao Steel, Beijing Metal Society, Zhejiang Metal Society, and Steelmaking Branch of CSM have cooperated to jointly hold the National Annual Meeting on Secondary Refining and the Annual Meeting on Steel Quality and Non-metallic Inclusion Control every two years. The conference has been warmly welcomed and actively participated by metallurgists in China. In recent years, more than 200 representatives have participated in each conference, fully exchanging the current development status and trends of technology in this field, and discussing the technical issues of secondary refining, steel quality and non-metallic inclusion control in China. This conference has become a highly influential professional conference in the field of iron and steel.

To further promote international academic and technological exchanges, the conference committee has decided to upgrade the national academic conference to international one. The 2023 International Conference on Secondary Refining and Inclusion Control was held in Kunming, China, building a bridge for international experts to exchange ideas in relevant professional fields, better promoting the coordination and cooperation of metallurgical scientists worldwide, and facilitating technological advancements in this field.

The upcoming 2025 International Conference on Secondary Refining and Inclusion Control is scheduled to be held in Xi'an, China, from August 21st to 23rd, 2025. The conference will be conducted in both English and Chinese, and the deadline for paper submission is July 31st, 2025.
